When it comes to hair and body care that combines effective formulas with a minimalist aesthetic, Ouai is one of my go-to brands. I went through an obsession a few years ago because the scent of their products is amazing and I wanted them all. Since I’ve tried a good selection of their products, and each one brings something unique to my routine. Here’s my take on each product in my collection:
1. Ouai Hair Oil
This lightweight hair oil has become a staple for taming frizz and adding shine without weighing my hair down. It smells luxurious, with a floral, musky scent that lingers. I love using a small amount on my ends for a sleek finish, and it doubles as a heat protectant, which is a nice bonus. I don’t fully know how to explain this but this is the scent that I personally picture when people talk about the clean girl aesthetic, you just smell put together and good.
Pros: Adds shine, tames frizz, heat protection
Cons: Can be a bit heavy for very fine hair if overused
2. Ouai Leave-In Conditioner
This leave-in conditioner is a lifesaver for detangling and softening my hair. It has the same signature Ouai scent that I adore, and it doesn’t leave a sticky residue. My hair feels more manageable and smoother, especially on days when I don’t want to fully style it. It also offers heat protection, which is great for blow-drying. I don’t apply a big amount (I have fine hair that tends to get oily if I apply too much product.)
Pros: Detangles, smooths, heat protection
Cons: The scent might be strong for those sensitive to fragrances, if you are prone to headaches it might be too strong.
3. Ouai Hand Soap
I have to say, this is hands down my favorite hand soap! Not only does it smell amazing, but it also has tiny scrubbies in it that gently exfoliate, leaving my hands super soft and clean. The best part? People actually compliment my “perfume” when I’m only wearing this hand soap! It has a fragrance that’s fresh yet warm, and the scent lingers subtly, which I absolutely love. In regards to more expensive soaps, I have tried Jo Malone, and other expensive soaps I think this is my favorite so far.
Pros: Exfoliates gently, smells incredible, leaves hands soft
Cons: A bit pricey for a hand soap, but worth it for the experience, it’s also a pretty aesthetic bottle too.
4. Ouai Hand Crème
I love the luxurious texture of this hand crème. It’s thick and moisturizing but absorbs quickly, leaving my hands soft without any greasiness. The scent is subtle but lovely, making it a nice addition to my desk for reapplying throughout the day. I got this as a Christmas gift and if you own the perfume I think that this is a complimentary addition however I don’t personally feel that I would spend my own money on this. I’d rather buy the hand soap if i’m being honest.
Pros: Rich hydration, smells good.
Cons: Small tube size for the price, slightly greasy
5. Ouai Air Dry Foam
I considered making a review for this as I have tried it. I have to be honest I have fine, thin hair and have yet to ever really find a hair foam that actually works for hair. It’s just made my hair kinda tacky and it knotted very easily after using this so it’s a pass for me.
Pros: Adds texture and definition, easy to use
6. Ouai Melrose Place Eau de Parfum
Melrose Place is one of my favorite fragrances, with a fresh, rose-forward scent that feels sophisticated and feminine. It’s floral without being too sweet, and it has good staying power. This is my go-to scent when I want to feel effortlessly chic. It’s is very strong though, if you do not like floral you will hate this but I love it. Once again this scent just gives off clean girl vibes to me.
Pros: Elegant, long-lasting scent
Cons: Not ideal for those who prefer non-floral fragrances
7. Ouai Scalp & Body Scrub
The scent is divine, and it turns into a light lather that feels luxurious. However I just hate spending a lot of money on scrubs, I’d rather buy something else so I would pass on this. But it does smell amazing.
Pros: Exfoliates scalp and body, softens skin
Cons: Can be a bit messy to apply, expensive
